Parts
This image includes the parts for the entire issue. However, the parts included with this pack are:
- Radiator Hose
- Camshaft Covers & Breather Cap Assemblies
- Cross-Shaft Assembly
Materials: Everything in this pack is plastic.
Screws
This pack came with one bag of unlabeled screws containing the following type(s):
- Five (5) Type Q – These are a new type of screw
Build
Radiator Hose
Clip the Radiator Hose (010-D) onto the tap on the side of the Cylinder Head. Once the radiator is in place, connect the loose end of the hose to it. Your hose may be longer than the one shown. If so, bend the hose until it fits snugly alongside the engine.
I am not sure why they are referring to the radiator we don’t even have yet. It would be bad form if we have to go backwards in issues for instructions:
Camshaft Covers & Breather Cap Assemblies
The Camshaft Cover and Breather Cap Assemblies (010-A and 010-B) are pre-assembled. Clip the assemblies to the Cylinder Head. They will only attach in one direction. Then, fix them together with four (4) Type Q screws:
There are two tabs and two protruding posts under each Camshaft Cover assembly. These fit into the slots and holes on either side of the Cylinder Head:
The four (4) Type Q screws hold all of this in place:
Cross-shaft Assembly
The Cross-shaft Assembly (010-C) fits to the Carburettor Assembly only one way. The part’s peg fittings are shaped to match this.
This time, the parts match the instructions as one of the Carburettor Assembly holes is indeed D-shaped (circled below):
Thoughts
The engine is really starting to take shape now. I appreciate the different finishes on all the different parts!
