Build
The Hood Support Rods
Run one (1) Type T screw through each Hood Support Rod Mount, as shown.
We are not going to follow the magazine, nor the PDFs for this one. Thanks to a suggestions from one of my visitors, Frank, we are going to run the screw through the holes in each Hood Support Rod and then into the mounts. This not only holds the rod more securely, but it gives it some friction so these rods to not flop around as we are working on the front end:
Thoughts
Keep these rod assemblies nearby as we will need them in the next pack.

Pack 77 – Car Front Body
The alternative to making the clear plastic retainers for the hood support rods mentioned in build segment 77 is to run the T screws from the opposite direction as they are retained by the front casting. Also it allows you to tension the rods rather than they flop around.
Fraser, I have updated the article with your tip, thanks!
Frasier, I followed your tip – good idea! My only concern is the raising/lowering of the rods will eventually unscrew them. So I did not tighten them enough to hold the rods in place… hopefully that lack of force will let the screws stay in place.
