Build

Rear Wings Section

Before we start, I wanted to mention that this little chrome trunk release button was already attached to the rear section:

Step 1

Retrieve your Right Tail Lights, Housing and Electronics assembly from Pack 69. Feed the wiring plug and wires through this hole at the right rear of the Rear Wings Section.

The two tail lights are marked L and R, so you can tell which one we need to use here (the one marked ‘R’):

Press this light housing flush into the matching opening, as shown:

Secure the tab of this assembly into place from the inside of the Rear Wings Section with one (1) Type C screw.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Repeating the same process, retrieve your Left Tail Lights, Housing and Electronics assembly from Pack 70. Feed the wiring plug and wires through this hole at the right rear of the Rear Wings Section and press it flush into place:

Secure the tab of this assembly into place from the inside of the Rear Wings Section with one (1) Type C screw:

That step completes this pack. You can now push in gently on the clear reverse lamps of each tail light and they will fold down, like this:

However, when you rotate these back up into place, you may find the wires might get bunched up inside the opening. I found that gently bending the wires (right at the back of the LED) down into the housing helped keep the wires out of harm’s way:

Thoughts

The Rear Wings Section is a big piece and basically makes up the entire rear end of our DB5. The tail lights look pretty sharp too! Keep all of the remaining screws safe as we will need them soon.

  1. Hi, my front light isnt working anymore. Could you please tell me where the cable ends so i can check the wire? Thanks

    1. If you mean the headlight, I have not connected these to the main circuit board so I can not answer your question yet. I do have the next shipment and plan on building it this week, so we could have an answer very soon!
