Parts

This image includes the parts for the entire issue. However, the parts included with this pack are:

  • Rear Seat Section
  • Rear Seat Middle Part
  • Ejector Seat Spring
  • Ejector Seat Trigger Wire

Materials: The spring and trigger wire in this pack are metal, but the other parts are plastic.

Screws

This pack came with one bag of unlabeled screws containing the following type(s):

  • Three (3) Type E – These are a NEW type of screw
  • Three (3) Type O – We’ve seen these before

Build

Rear Seat

The instructions in the magazine are just wrong, so ignore them. For whatever reason, they refer to the glove compartment!

Fit the two holes of the Rear Seat Middle Part over these two posts of the Rear Seat:

Secure with two (2) Type E screws:

The top of the Rear Seat assembly should look like this:

Trigger Housing

Retrieve the Trigger Housings from the previous pack.

We are going to start with the one on the left (with the pegs in the middle):

Fit the Ejector Seat Spring into the rounded channel down the middle of this Trigger Housing, as shown:

Take the other Trigger Housing and place it on top aligning the two pegs to the matching holes (circled below) and trapping the Ejector Seat Spring in between. Press the two parts together.

You will also want to compress the spring a little from the top to get this to fit together tightly. Once joined, the spring should be able to be compressed from the top (yellow arrow below):

Flip the Trigger Housing assembly over and secure the two halves together with four (4) Type O screws:

Although we did not use it, take care not to lose the small Ejector Seat Trigger Wire. It will not be installed until later issues:

Thoughts

After three packs of no assembly, we finally were able to build something! I am still convinced that these are the worst instructions of any partwork I am building. They show parts installed in pieces we don’t even have yet. It is so frustrating, but we managed to sort it out.

  1. I could not agree more with you regarding the poor instructions on this model. With that said wanted to you let you know how much I appreciate your time ,effort and work maintaining this site and the other part work builds as I’m also woking on the BTTF Delorean and 300 SL which seems to be at a stand still. Have you received any additional parts for the DB5 after 34?

    Thank You! Tony

    1. Thank you for your comments, the whole reason I run all my sites is to help others! I feel your pain about the DeLorean and 300SL, they are stopped at the moment. However, I should have the next DB5 parts (35-38) arriving on Thursday this week.
