 Return to the BUILD

“After creating the interior and engine section, we now focus on the replica model DB5’s body, first looking at the car’s front and its doors.”

Parts

This image includes the parts for the entire issue. However, the parts included with this pack are:

  • Bonnet Hinge
  • Support Rod Holder

Materials: The Bonnet Hinge is metal, but the Support Rod Holder is plastic.

Screws

This pack came with one bag of unlabeled screws containing the following type(s):

  • Two (2) Type I (silver) – These are a NEW type of screw, with the thicker 2.3mm shaft
  • One (1) Type K (silver) – This is a NEW type of screw, with the thinner 2.0mm shaft

NOTE: Neither of these screws are shown on the parts page of the magazine, nor are they listed on the Screws inventory.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Fit the Support Rod Holder to the rear edge of the Bonnet as shown, and secure with one (1) Type K (silver) screw:

Thoughts

After spending so much time working on the last pack, this one went by fast! It is weird that the screws supplied in this pack are not mentioned anywhere, but they fit just fine. I’m guessing they changed the build yet again since printing the magazines.

    1. I am in the UK and i also did not receive the i or k screws in pack 36. I have the 2010 original version of the kit. Are you in the US with a current subscription or was your kit from 2010? The screws are not listed on the early version of the screw chart. You can use the spare silver screws from issues 41, 45 & 56 to complete pack 36. It might be an error that has since been corrected in the current US subscription.

      1. I am in the US, but I think the parts for my build came from both an old and new release as some had red package cardboard and some had black. Thanks for the info on the additional screws!

  1. I am in the US and also did not receive those screws. I improvised and used some found screws and super glue. Didn’t want to wait.

  2. I also did not get the I and K screws…. I’ve also been less than impressed with customer service, they don’t really seem to know anything about the models. I wonder where they source the screws from, maybe we can just order them direct.

  3. My kit did not come with the I and K screws either.

I also have a subscription to the Ecto-1 and they just stopped sending issues and said they do not know when they will get more!

    I am done with Eaglemoss

    1. Eaglemoss went bankrupt (administration in the UK) and disappeared. The administrators are in the process of selling off pieces of the company, including the build-up models, to other parties. It does appear that PCT (IXO models) has picked up the DB5 partwork, but they need to work out licensing for the various territories around the world to be able to market/sell them again. They did say they will be reaching out to all existing subscribers soon.
